Understanding the phases of each hand is crucial for timing your plays correctly. Here's a complete breakdown of how a hand flows from start to finish.

Your Turn

Players take turns clockwise. On your turn, you may PLAY one card or PASS.

  • You start each hand with 10 Energy
  • Every card has an Energy Cost (1-5) based on its Power
  • Pay the card's cost and place it face-up
  • Resolve any immediate effects (Links, Draws, etc.)

💡 Strategy Tip

Passing doesn't end your participation! You can play again in future rounds until everyone passes consecutively.

Rounds & Passing

Play continues in rounds until all players pass consecutively.

  • Each round, every player gets one turn (clockwise)
  • You may PASS even with playable cards
  • Passing does NOT eliminate you - you can play again next round
  • The hand ends when ALL players pass in the same round

Effect Resolution Phase

Chaos card effects resolve in a strict priority order. Understanding this order is crucial for advanced play!

3rd ⚡ Energize Modify Energy pools
4th 🔗 Link Play additional Action cards from hand

7th 🎯 Combo Conditional bonus points
8th 💪 Push Energy-based bonuses
9th 📣 Rally Card/element-based bonuses
10th ✖️ Multiply Multiply your stats or total score

⚠️ Important: Multiply is Last!

Multipliers apply after all other bonuses are calculated. This makes Multiply cards extremely powerful when combined with Combo, Push, and Rally effects!

Scoring Phase

Calculate final scores in this order:

Step 1: Base Action Points

Sum all stats (Time + Heart + Spotlight + Connection) from your Action cards

Step 2: Apply Stat Multipliers

If any effect multiplies a specific stat, apply it now

Step 3: Add Chaos Power

Each Chaos card adds its Power value to your score

Step 4: Add Bonuses

Add all Combo, Push, Rally, Link, and Draw bonuses

Step 5: Apply Hand Multiplier

If any effect multiplies your total, apply it now

Step 6: Subtract Sabotage

Reduce score by any Sabotage penalties (minimum 0)

Determining the Winner

Highest score wins the hand! In case of ties:

  1. Highest Spotlight total wins
  2. If still tied: Highest Connection total wins
  3. If still tied: Player seated earliest wins

Draw Phase

After scoring, prepare for the next hand:

  1. Discard played cards - All played cards go to their respective discard piles
  2. Draw back to 10 - Each player draws cards until they have 10 total
  3. Choose your draws - For each card drawn, choose Action or Chaos pile

💡 Draw Strategy

A balanced hand has roughly 5 Action cards and 5 Chaos cards. But don't be afraid to go heavy on one type if your strategy calls for it!

🏆 Match Structure

A complete match consists of multiple hands:

  • First player to win 10 hands wins the match
  • Energy resets to 16 at the start of each hand
  • Some Aura effects persist across hands
  • Keep track of won-hands - some cards reference this!
